Checkout Problems?
We hate that you are having problems, but we do have some helpful advise to help you out.
Do you have JavaScript Enabled?
We know many geeks prefer not to enable JavaScipt, Flash or even view images when on the Internet. Unfortunately, JavaScipt and images are important to get the full feel of CrazyLikeThat.com. If someone would like to donate a checkout system that is JavaScript free, we will be more than happy to get it in place. Until then, please consider enabling JavaScript and displaying images. We would really like you to see what you are buying.
Are you using an Internet Explorer Browser?
Quick IE Browser Fix
Download one of these browsers: IE8, Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome. We think you'll enjoy them, even when you're not shopping at CrazyLikeThat.com
Problems in IE8
Our site looks and works wonderfully in IE 8 *unless* you have it in "Compatibility View". This view is designed to make it work as if it is running with older IE7 browser settings. To fix this, go to "Tools" in the menu bar and uncheck "Compatibility View".
Problems in IE6 & IE7
IE6 & IE7 don't always follow the same guidelines a lot of other browsers follow. This can make designing and developing web pages a nightmare. Not only are there a ton of browsers to select from, but various versions of browsers. Code that works for one does not necessarily work for another. In this case, IE does not play well with the Google Checkout code. The browsers we listed above will give you a great experience and cost absolutely nothing.
If you are using IE6, we did find that refreshing the browser 2-3 times makes everything all better, at least until you click on another link, then refresh madness begins again. Why it errors on some loads and not others, we don't know.
You will also notice in IE6, there is no checkout button. Why it disappears in IE6, we don't know. We do know if you click in the area of white space next to the subtotal, the checkout button still works, you just cannot see it.
If you are having problems seeing our shopping cart in IE7, go to the Tools menu and open the "Internet Options" item.
- Click on the "Security" tab.
- Confirm you're looking at "Internet" for zones.
- Select "Custom level..." underneath the "Security level for this zone"
- Underneath "Scripting" / "Active scripting", set the radio button to "Enable" or "Prompt." If you select prompt, you will need to allow scripts to run on "crazylikethat.com" to add items to your cart. You will see multiple prompts.
- Click "Yes" when asked if you want to accept the changes.
If you are using IE7 and shipping and handling is set to $0, the checkout button is inactivate. To fix this, go to "tools > internet options > securities tab > trusted sites > sites button > add this website to the zone > close > ok
We are working on a major revamp that will implement the checkout portion a completely different way and hopefully elimate the issue you are experiencing. In the mean time, we hope you'll use one of the solutions above.
